      The Assembly Labor Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 1758.

      This bill amends the prevailing wage act, P.L.1963, c.150 (C.34:11-56.25 et seq.) to impose penalties on any public works contractor who fails to notify any subcontractor of the contractor of whatever responsibility the subcontractor has to pay wages at the rate applicable under that act. The penalties are the same as the penalties for other violations of the act and include fines, imprisonment or both.
