      The Assembly Commerce and Military and Veterans' Affairs Committee reports favorably Assembly, No. 1826.

      This bill would permit New Jersey members of the United States Submarine Veterans to affix the twin dolphin emblem on a special license plate issued to a submarine veteran pursuant to P.L.1987, c.374 (C.39:3-27.35 et seq.). This emblem signifies the owner is a qualified submarine sailor.

      The bill requires that the emblem be affixed to a special submarine veteran license plate. The bill permits a surviving spouse to display the emblem on the license plates of a vehicle owned or leased by the surviving spouse.

      The bill also gives the Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles the discretion to adopt rules and regulations governing the use of the emblems.
