      The Assembly Local Government Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 1858

      Assembly Bill No. 1858 would provide that a municipality may enter into an agreement for mutual emergency police or fire aid with an interstate authority.

      Under current law, a municipality may enter into an agreement with another municipality for mutual police or fire aid in case of emergency.

      Assembly Bill No. 1858 is identical to Senate Bill No. 66, which also was reported by the committee on February 3, 1997.
