An Act establishing a "Gambling and Food Addictions Education Pilot Program."

 

      Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

      1. a. There is established a "Gambling and Food Addictions Education Pilot Program" in the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse.

      b. The Executive Director of the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse shall develop an educational pilot program which shall contain information on compulsive behaviors such as gambling and food addiction.

      c. The Alliance to Prevent Alcoholism and Drug Abuse shall include the pilot program in its comprehensive educational and community awareness programs in three municipalities, one each in the northern, central and southern regions of the State.

 

      2. Within 12 months of the date of enactment of this act, the executive director shall report to the Governor and the Legislature on the effectiveness of the program and present recommendations for expanding the program Statewide, as appropriate.

 

      3. This act shall take effect immediately and expire 18 months after enactment.
