An Act prohibiting the ownership of more than one professional sports team franchise and supplementing Title 5 of the Revised Statutes.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. Notwithstanding any law, rule or regulation to the contrary, the private ownership of more than one professional sports team franchise which plays its home games at any publicly-funded or publicly-operated sports facility within this State is prohibited.

 

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill would prohibit the private ownership of more than one professional sports team franchise which plays its home games at any publicly-funded or publicly-operated sports facility within this State.
