      The Assembly Appropriations Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 2051.

      Assembly Bill No. 2051 would appropriate $5 million to the Department of Law and Public Safety, Juvenile Justice Commission, from the "Public Purpose and Building Community-Based Facilities Construction Bond Act of 1989" for the construction of a 48-bed housing unit and a gymnasium/visitors facility at the New Jersey Training School for Boys (NJTSB). The NJTSB presently houses 475 juvenile inmates, which is 19 percent over its capacity.

 

FISCAL IMPACT:

      Assembly Bill No. 2051 appropriates $5 million from the "Public Purpose and Building Community- Based Facilities Construction Bond Act of 1989" to the Department of Law and Public Safety, Juvenile Justice Commission, for the construction of a 48-bed housing unit and a gymnasium/visitor facility at the New Jersey Training School for Boys.
