An Act concerning community service and supplementing Title 2C of the New Jersey Statutes.

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, whenever the court imposes community service upon a person convicted of an offense or offenses, such service may include participation in a county or municipal program which rehabilitates senior citizen housing projects, housing projects for the disabled and low income housing projects.

     2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    This bill provides that when the court imposes a sentence of community service that person may be required to participate in a county or municipal program which rehabilitates housing for senior citizens, the disabled or low income families.

Authorizes the court to impose community service under certain circumstances.
