A Supplement to "An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1996 and regulating the disbursement thereof," approved June 30, 1995 (P.L.1995, c.164).

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.1995, c.164, there is appropriated out of the General Fund the following sum for the purpose specified:

42 DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

40 Community Development and Environmental Management

43 Science and Technical Programs - STATE AID

State Aid:

 

 

     Reimbursement to Voorhees Township (Camden Cou Co.)nt

 

 

County) for Buzby Landfill Operations ........................................

The amount hereinabove for the Reimbursement to Voorhees Township (Camden County) for Buzby Landfill Operations account is appropriated from the Sanitary Landfill Facility Contingency Fund.

 

      2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

      This bill appropriates $500,000 from the Sanitary Landfill Facility Contingency Fund to Voorhees Township (Camden County) to reimburse costs accrued by the township for monitoring, investigating, analyzing and providing security for the operation of the Buzby Landfill facility. A State Appeals court recently ruled in favor of the township's eligibility for this funding after it's application was initially denied by the Department of Environmental Protection.


                             

 

Appropriates $500,000 to Voorhees Township (Camden County) from the Sanitary Landfill Facility Contingency Fund.
