ASSEMBLY AGRICULTURE AND WASTE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

STATEMENT TO

ASSEMBLY, No. 2168

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED: NOVEMBER 7, 1996

The Assembly Agriculture and Waste Management Committee favorably reports Assembly Bill No. 2168.

The "Stableman's Lien Act" provides that a keeper of a livery stable or boarding and exchange stable shall have a lien on all animals left with him for the amount due to that person. This bill would broaden the definition of "keeper of a livery stable" to include a proprietor of a stable, a trainer, a veterinarian, a farrier, or any other person who has a financial relationship with the owner of the horse.
