ASSEMBLY COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

ASSEMBLY, No. 2195

with Assembly Floor Amendments

      These Assembly amendments clarify the focus of the Assembly Committee Substitute for Assembly Bill 2195.

      With the adoption of these amendments, the provisions of the bill will require all bicycle riders under the age of 18 to wear safety helmets.

      The amendments also would make roller skaters and skateboarders subject to all applicable motor vehicle laws when operating upon public roadways. These supplementary sections are modeled upon the statutes which currently impose the same requirements on bicycle riders.
