An Act concerning State colleges and supplementing chapter 64 of Title 18A of the New Jersey Statutes.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. In the event that legal remedies are employed to challenge or prohibit a State college from changing its name, a State college shall be prohibited from utilizing State funds to meet the legal costs associated with that challenge.

 

    2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall be retroactive to June 27, 1996.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill prohibits State colleges from using State funds for legal actions taken against them as a result of adopting a name change.
