An Act to exclude sex reassignment surgery from coverage by the Medicaid program and supplementing P.L.1968, c.413 (C.30:4D-1 et seq.).

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. The Medicaid program shall not provide reimbursement for sex reassignment surgery.

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    This bill supplements the "New Jersey Medical Assistance and Health Services Act" to prohibit the Medicaid program from providing reimbursement for sex reassignment surgery.

Excludes sex reassignment surgery from Medicaid coverage.
