An Act concerning driver's license and amending P.L.1983, c.565.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. Section 1 of P.L.1983, c.565 (C.2C:21-2.1) is amended to read as follows:

    1. A person who knowingly sells, offers or exposes for sale a document, printed form or other writing which simulates a drivers' license or other document issued by a governmental agency and which could be used as a means of verifying a person's identity or age is guilty of a [disorderly persons offense]crime of the fourth degree.

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill would increase the crime of knowingly selling, offering, or exposing for sale a form simulating a driver's license, from a disorderly persons offense to a crime of the fourth degree.

 

 

                             

Upgrades the crime of simulating a driver's license.
