A Supplement to "An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1997 and regulating the disbursement thereof," approved June 28, 1996 (P.L.1996, c.42).

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.1996, c.42, there is appropriated out of the General Fund the following sum for the purpose specified:

  Grant to Morris County to expand and refurbish

 

 

  Life Safety Complex.

      2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

      This bill appropriates $2,000,000 to the Division of Fire Safety in the Department of Community Affairs to fund a grant for the expansion and refurbishment of the fire training facilities at the Morris County Fire and Police Academy Life Safety Complex. This grant would provide the funds necessary to expand and refurbish the existing fire fighters' training facilities and provide the facilities required for training students in the life safety measures needed at natural gas, propane gas, trench rescue, and confined space emergencies.
