      The Assembly Commerce and Military and Veterans' Affairs Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 2567

      As reported, this bill prohibits discrimination in the sale of nationally advertised malt alcoholic beverages by breweries to licensed wholesalers who are authorized by the breweries to sell those beverages.

      If the Director of the Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control finds after a hearing that the brewery has discriminated, the director would order the sale to be completed. If the brewery does not comply with the order, the director would prohibit every licensed wholesaler from purchasing malt alcoholic beverages from the brewery.

      The committee concurred with the view that advertising on the Internet should not be construed to be national advertising for the purposes of this bill.
