STATEMENT

Currently, there is no established procedure for a board of education of a county vocational school district to appeal a board of school estimate's determination as to the amount of funds necessary to be annually appropriated by the county for the use of county vocational school. This bill provides that a board of education of a county vocational school district may, within 15 days after receiving the board of school estimate's determination as to the amount necessary to be appropriated, notify the board of school estimate and the board of chosen freeholders of its intention to file an appeal with the Commissioner of Education on the sufficiency of the county appropriation.
