LEGISLATIVE FISCAL ESTIMATE TO

ASSEMBLY, No. 2645

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED: MARCH 18, 1997

Assembly Bill No. 2645 of 1997 amends the "Comprehensive Educational Improvement and Financing Act of 1996," P.L.1996, c.138, to provide additional supplemental stabilization aid to school districts which had enrollment increases between the October 1993 and October 1994 enrollment counts and between the October 1994 and October 1995 enrollment counts.

The Office of Legislative Services estimates that the enactment of this bill would cost the State approximately $3.2 million in the 1997-98 school year. The additional $3.2 million in supplemental stabilization aid would be provided to the Willingboro Township School District and the Bergen County Vocational and Technical School District that meet the criteria outlined in the bill for receipt of the additional aid.

This legislative fiscal estimate has been produced by the Office of Legislative Services due to the failure of the Executive Branch to respond to our request for a fiscal note.

This fiscal estimate has been prepared pursuant to P.L.1980, c.67.
