      The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee reports favorably Assembly Bill No. 2683 (1R) of 1997.

      Assembly Bill No. 2683 (1R) appropriates $10,470,832 to the Department of Corrections from the "Correctional Facilities Construction Fund," created pursuant to the "Correctional Facilities Construction Bond Act of 1987," P.L.1987, c.178, for certain renovations to the Vroom Building, the Albert C. Wagner Youth Correctional Facility and Northern State Prison.

      As reported, this bill is identical to Senate Bill No. 1826 of 1997 (LaRossa/Singer).

FISCAL IMPACT

      This bill appropriates $10,470,832 to the Department of Corrections from "Correctional Facilities Construction Bond Act of 1987," P.L.1987, c.178, for renovations at certain correctional facilities. According to the Department of Corrections, this bill appropriates all the monies remaining in the "Correctional Facilities Construction Fund."
