An Act concerning energy conservation in State buildings and supplementing Title 52 of the Revised Statutes.

 

      Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey: 

      1. The General Services Administration in the Department of the Treasury shall provide written reports to the Speaker of the General Assembly, the President of the Senate, and the Senate Environment Committee, or its successor, and the Assembly Environment, Science and Technology Committee, or its successor, within 90 days of the effective date of this act and not later than October 31st of every other year thereafter. The reports shall contain information on its approach to energy efficiency and energy management systems during the prior two fiscal years for every building occupied, in whole or in part, by employees of the State, including, but not limited to: a description of efforts undertaken by the General Services Administration to improve its energy efficiency and energy management systems; names and addresses of buildings that received energy-efficient lighting retrofits; and documentation of the savings, anticipated or realized, in nominal and real dollars, from such efforts.

      

      2. This act shall take effect immediately.
