STATEMENT
This bill appropriates $336, 000 to the Department of Health and Senior Services to provide grants to the cities of Paterson, Camden, Jersey City and Newark for their urban rodent control programs. These funds will supplement federal Preventative Health and Health Services Block Grant funds of approximately $177,000. The past several appropriations acts did not provide State funds to supplement federal funds for this program. Without these funds, the cities of Paterson, Camden, Jersey City and Newark may have to curtail their programs, which could result in more areas of these cities begin infested with rodents.
Appropriates $336,000 to DHSS for urban rodent control programs in the cities of Paterson, Camden, Jersey City and Newark.
