ASSEMBLY CONCURRENT RESOLUTION No. 72

The Assembly Health Committee reports favorably Assembly Concurrent Resolution Bill No. 72.
This concurrent resolution creates a 10-member "New Jersey Legislative Commission for the Study of Pain Management Policy." The purpose of the commission is to study laws and practices relating to acute and chronic pain management therapies provided by health care providers. The commission is directed to present a report of its findings and recommendations to the Governor and Legislature within 10 months from the date of the organization of the commission.
The members of the bipartisan commission will include two members of the Senate, who will be appointed by the President of the Senate, and two members of the General Assembly to be appointed by the Speaker of the General Assembly. The public members would include six health care professionals who are experts in the field of pain management, three to be appointed by the President of the Senate and three by the Speaker of the General Assembly.
