ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION No. 119

with committee amendments

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Assembly Transportation and Communications Committee reports favorably Assembly Resolution No. 119 with committee amendments.

      This amended resolution urges the President and the Congress of the United States to reauthorize the federal Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991, prior to its expiration in October 1997, for a period of time and a level of funding that are no less than current ISTEA authorization levels and providing that New Jersey's share of that funding is no less than its current ISTEA share. In addition, the resolution urges that the federal government continue to provide financial assistance to AMTRAK.

      The committee amended the resolution to specifically include language urging that New Jersey's share of ISTEA funding not be reduced when ISTEA is reauthorized.
