ASSEMBLY RESOLUTION No. 171

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

An Assembly Resolution designating the week of September 22nd through 28th, 1997 as "Athletic Trainer Week" in this State.

Whereas, Athletic trainers strive to provide excellence in health care for those athletes participating in scholastic, collegiate, recreational, and professional sports; and

Whereas, Athletic trainers work with pride and dedication to educate the public in this State about methods and techniques to decrease the chance of injuries occurring to athletes and other physically active persons; and

Whereas, Athletic trainers play a vital role in the development of positive attitudes toward achieving personal fitness and promoting healthy and addiction-free lifestyles; and

Whereas, The Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey is to be especially commended for its work to improve the health care available to physically active persons within the State of New Jersey through the advancement of the athletic training profession; and

Whereas, It is fitting and proper that this State recognizes the skilled efforts of athletic trainers as they endeavor to care for and manage the health concerns of athletes and physically active persons; now, therefore,

    Be It Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. The week of September 22nd through 28th, 1997 is designated as "Athletic Trainer Week" in this State.

    2. This House urges the people of New Jersey to recognize and commend athletic trainers for their valuable contributions and for their dedication and commitment in providing physical training and health care to the people in this State.

    3. A duly authenticated copy of this resolution, signed by the Speaker of the General Assembly and attested by the Clerk, shall be transmitted to the Athletic Trainers' Society of New Jersey.
