An Assembly Resolution urging support for the American/Israel Conference of Central New Jersey (Expo '96).

Whereas, Preparations are underway for the 1996 American/Israel Conference (Expo '96) to be held on Sunday, June 2, 1996 in the Manalapan High School, Manalapan Township, New Jersey; and

Whereas, The event is sponsored by the Manalapan Temple Beth Shalom and co-sponsored by the Governor's New Jersey-Israel Commission, the Western Monmouth Chamber of Commerce, the Jewish Federation of Greater Monmouth County, the National Christian Leadership Conference for Israel and churches, synagogues, community groups and veterans organizations; and

Whereas, The aims of the conference are to honor Israel as a democracy in the Middle East, to inform the American public of Israel's accomplishments in the areas of economic growth and cultural development, to disseminate information, advice and guidance relative to opportunities in Israel for personal involvement, to actively promote tourism to Israel as a means of identifying with the people of Israel, and to encourage Israelis and Arabs in human relationships and promote the peace process; and

Whereas, The conference offers workshops covering all aspects of Israeli culture and civilization, programs and speakers from many vocations, including the religious, business, legal, historical and education communities; and

Whereas, The General Assembly of the State of New Jersey wishes to actively support the conference and each of its aims; now, therefore,

    Be It Resolved by the General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. The General Assembly urges the citizens of the State of New Jersey to support and participate in the 1996 American/Israel

Conference of Central New Jersey (Expo '96).

    2. Duly authenticated copies of this resolution, signed by the Speaker of the General Assembly and attested by the Clerk thereof, shall be transmitted to Mr. Ben Weiner, Founder of the Conference.

STATEMENT

    This resolution urges the citizens of the State of New Jersey to support the American/Israel Conference of Central New Jersey (Expo '96) being held on June 2, 1996 in Manalapan Township, New Jersey and each of its aims.

    This resolution also affirms the General Assembly's support for the aims of this conference, including: honoring Israel, providing information on the culture and civilization of Israel and its accomplishments in the areas of economic growth and cultural development, actively promoting tourism, encouraging Israelis and Arabs in human relations and promoting the peace process.

Urges the citizens of the State of New Jersey to support the American/Israel Conference of Central New Jersey (Expo '96).
