The Senate Commerce Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 143.
This bill allows a county vocational school or a county college to participate in a workers' compensation insurance fund established by the county in which it is located. These funds, known as "The Workers' Compensation Insurance Fund," may be established by counties pursuant to Article 4 of chapter 10 of Title 40A of the New Jersey Statutes (N.J.S.40A:10-12 et seq.). A county vocational school or county college may currently participate in an insurance fund established by its county of location for the purpose of insuring against first-party property damage, third-party motor vehicle liability and third-party general liability.
This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 1996 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review which has been performed.
