An Act concerning workers' compensation coverage for county vocational schools and county colleges and amending P.L.1988, c.143 and P.L.1988, c.144.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. Section 1 of P.L.1988, c.143 (C.18A:18B-8) is amended to read as follows:

    1. In any county which has established an insurance fund pursuant to N.J.S.40A:10-6 or Article 4 of chapter 10 of Title 40A of the New Jersey Statutes (N.J.S.40A:10-12 et seq.) or is a member of a joint insurance fund pursuant to P.L.1983, c.372 (C.40A:10-36 et seq.), the board of education of the county vocational school located within that county may, at the option of the board of education, enter into a contract with the governing body of the county or joint insurance fund to participate in the county insurance fund or a joint insurance fund as the case may be.

    2. Section 1 of P.L.1988, c.144 (C.18A:64A-25.40) is amended to read as follows:

    1. In any county which has established an insurance fund pursuant to N.J.S.40A:10-6 or Article 4 of chapter 10 of Title 40A of the New Jersey Statutes (N.J.S.40A:10-12 et seq.) or is a [joint] member of [an] a joint insurance fund pursuant to P.L.1983, c.372 (C.40A:10-36 et seq.), the board of trustees of a county college located within that county may, at the option of the board of trustees, enter into a contract with the governing body of the county or joint insurance fund to participate in the county insurance fund or a joint insurance fund.

    3. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

 

Allows county vocational schools and county colleges to participate in county insurance funds for workers' compensation.
