A Supplement to “An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1996 and regulating the disbursement thereof,” approved June 29, 1995 (P.L.1995, c.164).

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.1995, c.164, there is appropriated out of the General Fund the following sum for the purpose specified:

17 PAROLE AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

7010 OFFICE OF PAROLE AND COMMUNITY PROGRAMS

03-7010 Parole............................................................$7,000,000

Personal Services:

    Salaries and Wages.........................($7,000,000)

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    This bill appropriates $7 million in salary funding to the Department of Corrections to enable it to hire additional parole officers so that it may able to reduce the parole officer caseload by one-third from the current caseload of 70 parolees per officer to 47 parolees per officer.

    Supplemental appropriation of $7 million to the Department of Corrections to hire additional parole officers to reduce the parole officer caseload by one-third.
