FISCAL NOTE TO

SENATE, No. 273

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED: SEPTEMBER 13, 1996

Senate Bill No.273 of 1996 would provide that a court officer would be entitled to $.10 of every dollar collected pursuant to a Special Civil Part execution, writ of attachment or court order. Under the provisions of N.J.S. 22A:2-37.2, court officers are currently entitled to $.10 on every dollar of the first $5,000 collected on an execution, writ of attachment or court order issued by the Special Civil Part of the Superior Court, Law Division, and $.05 on every dollar in excess of $5,000 collected.

The Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) states that while this bill would undoubtedly increase by an indeterminate amount the total funds received by each court officer on monies collected, it would in no way impact on State or local revenues or expenditures.

The Office of Legislative Services concurs.
