The STATE GOVERNMENT Committee reports favorable Senate Bill No. 283.      The Senate State Government Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 283.

      This bill increases the membership of the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse from 24 to 25 members by adding the Adjutant General as an ex officio member. The bill also increases the number of members needed for a quorum from 13 to 14.

      The bill replaces the Chancellor of Higher Education as an ex officio member with the chair of the executive board of the New Jersey Presidents' Council, which was created pursuant to P.L.1994, c.48.

      This bill was pre-filed for introduction in the 1996 session pending technical review. As reported, this bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
