SENATE, No. 285

with Senate Floor Amendments

(Proposed By Senator EWING)

ADOPTED: MAY 16, 1996

These amendments clarify the "grandfathering" provisions of the bill and specify that the bill does not apply to employees of school boards who are entitled, on the effective date of the act, to receive payment of supplemental compensation at the time of termination of employment for reasons other than retirement, provided the amount of the payment does not exceed the amount of the payment that the employee is entitled to receive on the effective date of the act. The bill also does not apply to employees of school boards who are entitled, on the effective date of the act, to receive payment of supplemental compensation at the time of retirement in an amount which exceeds $15,000, provided the amount of the payment does not exceed the amount of the payment that the employee is entitled to receive on the effective date of the act.
