      The Senate Judiciary Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 298.

      This bill would make it a crime of the fourth degree for a person, not licensed or privileged to do so, to peer into a window or other opening of a dwelling or other structure for the purpose of involving the privacy of another under circumstances under which a reasonable person in the structure would not expect to be observed. Crimes of the fourth degree are punishable by a term of imprisonment not to exceed to 18 months, a fine not to exceed $7,500.00 or both.

      This bill was prefiled for introduction in the 1996 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review, which has been performed.
