An Act establishing the Public Works Enforcement Fund and supplementing P.L.1963, c.150 (C.34:11-56.25 et seq.).

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. There is established in the department the Public Works Enforcement Fund. Every contract for any public work subject to the provisions of P.L.1963, c.150 (C.34:11-56.25 et seq.) shall contain a provision requiring that an amount equal to 0.1% of the contract price shall be paid to the commissioner, who shall deposit the amount into the Public Works Enforcement Fund. All moneys in the fund shall be applied toward the costs incurred by the department in the enforcement of the provisions of P.L.1963, c.150 (C.34:11-56.25 et seq.).

 

    2. This act shall take effect of the 90th day following enactment.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill establishes the Public Works Enforcement Fund in the Department of Labor. The bill requires that each public works contract which is subject to the provisions of the "New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act," P.L.1963, c.150 (C.34:11-56.25 et seq.) contain a provision requiring that an amount equal to 0.1% of the contract price be deposited into the Public Works Enforcement Fund. All moneys in the fund are to be applied toward the department's costs of enforcing the provisions of the "New Jersey Prevailing Wage Act."
