SENATE COMMUNITY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE

STATEMENT TO

SENATE, No. 321

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED: MARCH 7, 1996

The Senate Community Affairs Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 321.

This bill would limit the applicability of P.L.1993, c.36, which requires that a county provide an environmental and recreational impact report and hold hearings before it may lease for 20 years or more, sell, or exchange any real property or capital improvement. This bill would relieve a county from complying with these requirements for transactions involving any real property or capital improvement which is one acre or less in size or is valued at $50,000 or less.

This bill was prefiled for introduction in the 1996 session pending technical review. As reported, the bill includes the changes required by technical review which has been performed.
