      The Senate Budget and Appropriations Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 399 of 1996.

      Senate Bill No. 399 appropriates $5,978,000 in bond funds to the Department of Corrections for the construction, as part of the county assistance program, of a 200 bed county correctional facility in Camden County.

      The moneys are appropriated from three different bond funds:

      (1) $1,833,029.33 is appropriated from the "Public Purpose Buildings and Community-Based Facilities Fund of 1989";

      (2) $238,288.67 is re-appropriated from the "Public Purpose Buildings Construction Fund of 1980"; and

      (3) $3,906,682 is re-appropriated from the "Correctional Facilities Construction Fund of 1982."

      As reported, this bill is identical to Assembly Bill No. 508 of 1996 (Roberts/Stuhltrager).

 

FISCAL IMPACT

      This bill appropriates $5,978,000 in bond funds to the Department of Corrections for the construction, as part of the county assistance program, of a 200 bed county correctional facility in Camden County.
