SENATE, No. 461

with Senate Floor Amendments

ADOPTED: JUNE 13, 1996

      These amendments exclude automated recorded telephone operator introductions for the purpose of accepting a call or message from the bill's provisions; delete "business" from modifying the term "relationship," as this law with the bill's amendments no longer applies only to commercial recorded messages; and clarify that an emergency purpose is one immediately affecting the health and safety of consumers and that the provisions of the law apply only to intrastate telephone calls.

      As amended, this bill is identical to Assembly Bill No. 1023 (1R).
