SENATE, No. 66

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Assembly Local Government Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 66. 

      Senate Bill No. 66 would provide that a municipality may enter into an agreement for mutual emergency police or fire aid with an interstate authority.

      Under current law, a municipality may enter into an agreement with another municipality for mutual police or fire aid in case of emergency.

      Senate Bill No. 66 is identical to Assembly Bill No. 1858, which also was reported by the committee on February 3, 1997.
