      The Assembly Community Services Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 94 with committee amendments.

      As amended, this bill appropriates $500,000 to the Department of Human Services for lead poisoning projects to be provided through the Office for Prevention of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities' Interagency Task Force on the Prevention of Lead Poisoning. These funds supplement the $200,000 appropriated to the Department of Health in P.L.1995, c.164 for a Statewide lead poisoning education initiative.

      The amendments are technical in nature and ensure that the current appropriation of $642,000 to the Office of Prevention of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities is supplemented with this additional $500,000 appropriation.
