      The Senate Law and Public Safety Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 542.

      This bill permits a chiropractor licensed to practice in this State or a bordering state to certify that a person meets the definition of "handicapped person" in section 1 of P.L.1949, c.280 (C.39:4-204) in order for the Director of Motor Vehicles to authorize that person to use parking spaces designated for the handicapped. Currently, only a licensed physician or podiatrist may grant this certification.
