SENATE NATURAL RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE

STATEMENT TO

SENATE, No. 606

with committee amendments

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED: JUNE 24, 1996

The Senate Natural Resources and Economic Development Committee favorably reports Senate Bill No. 606 with committee amendments.

This bill establishes a 13-member Advisory Council on Delaware River Power Boating. The duty of the advisory council shall be to study the use of power boats, and especially personal watercraft, on the Delaware River from Trenton northward and the impact of this activity on persons who engage in other forms of recreation on the river or who visit, live or work in the municipalities along the river.

The committee amendments reduce the number of members authorized to serve on the council from 17 to 13. Other committee amendments are technical in nature and serve to clarify the sponsor's intent.
