An Act changing the effective date of changes in the conduct of school elections and amending P.L.1995, c.278.

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. Section 47 of P.L.1995, c.278 is amended to read as follows:

    47. This act shall take effect [90 days following the date of enactment] May 1, 1996.

    2. This act shall take effect immediately.

STATEMENT

    Currently the placing of the conduct of school elections under the district boards of election pursuant to P.L.1995, c.278 is to occur 90 days after the date of enactment of that act, which date was December 15, 1995. This bill changes the effective date to May 1, 1996.
