An Act concerning the reporting date of the Task Force on New Jersey History, amending P.L.1994, c.146, and making an appropriation.

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. Section 7 of P.L.1994, c.146 is amended to read as follows:

    7. The task force shall report its findings and conclusions and any recommendations for legislation or administrative action to the Governor and the Legislature within [18] 30 months of the date of enactment of this act, whereupon the task force shall dissolve.

    2. (New section) There is appropriated from the General Fund to the Task Force on New Jersey History the sum of $90,000 to effectuate the purposes of P.L.1994, c.146.

 

    3. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    The Task Force on New Jersey History is required to report its findings, conclusions and recommendations within 18 months of the enactment date (December 2, 1994) of the legislation which created it, whereupon the task force shall dissolve. This bill extends the task force's reporting date by 12 months so that the report shall be due by June 1997, rather than June 1996, at which time the task force shall terminate. The bill also provides the task force with an appropriation of $90,000 in order for it to carry out its functions.
