with committee amendments

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

      The Senate State Government Committee reports favorably and with committee amendments Senate, No. 697.

      This bill amends the date by which the newly created Task Force on New Jersey History would be required to submit its report to the Governor and the Legislature from 18 months after the date of enactment of the act that created the task force (which was December 2, 1994) to 18 months after the date of the first meeting of the task force. This bill is intended to ensure that the task force, which was only recently organized in the latter part of 1995, will have sufficient time to complete its study and report.

COMMITTEE AMENDMENTS

      The committee amended the bill to: 1) change the date that the task force is required to report from within 30 months of the enactment date of the legislation which created it to 18 months after the date of its first meeting; and 2) delete the $90,000 appropriation to the task force.
