      The Senate Senior Citizens, Veterans' Affairs and Human Services Committee reports favorably Senate Bill No. 731 with committee amendments.

      This bill gives veterans a preference over other applicants for student loans administered under the "Higher Education Assistance Authority Law."

      The committee adopted a technical amendment to clarify the language in section 1 of the bill.
