A Supplement to "An Act making appropriations for the support of the State Government and the several public purposes for the fiscal year ending June 30, 1996 and regulating the disbursement thereof," approved June 30, 1995 (P.L.1995, c.164).

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. In addition to the amounts appropriated under P.L.1995, c.164, there is appropriated out of the General Fund the following sum for the purpose specified:

CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION

42 DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

40 Community Development and Environmental Management

42 Natural Resource Management

Capital Projects:

Sum and Dundee dams flood control ...........................................................

   $30,000

 

 

 

      2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

      This bill would appropriate $30,000 to the Department of Environmental Protection to conduct a feasibility and cost study of installing taintor gates on the Sun and Dundee dams located on the Passaic River downstream from Beattie's dam. The purpose of the study is to examine the application of taintor gates for improved flood control along the Passaic River in the towns of Paterson, Garfield and Clifton.

 

 

                             

 

Appropriates $30,000 to the DEP to conduct feasibility study for flood control by Sum and Dundee dams.
