An Act concerning mailing lists and supplementing P.L.1960, c.39 (C.56:8-1 et seq.).

 

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

 

    1. No person, including any public or private entity, shall rent, sell or otherwise release the names, addresses, or telephone numbers of individuals to any other person for use in commercial solicitation without the prior written or electronic consent of those individuals.

 

    2. This act shall take effect on the 90th day following enactment.

 

 

STATEMENT

 

    This bill prohibits any entity, including any public or private entity, from renting, selling or otherwise releasing the names, addresses, or telephone numbers of individuals to any other person for use in commercial solicitation without the prior written or electronic consent of those individuals.
