FISCAL NOTE TO

SENATE, No. 798

STATE OF NEW JERSEY

DATED: April 11, 1996

Senate Bill No. 798 requires the New Jersey Transit Corporation (NJT) to study the feasibility and estimate the cost of instituting rail passenger service on existing rail freight lines and/or rail rights-of-way that run between the City of Camden and the City of Trenton. The study is to be completed within six months of the effective date of this bill becoming law.

NJT anticipates that the study could cost about $200,000. NJT also anticipates that the money for the study would come from its Study and Development account financed by the Transportation Trust Fund.

This fiscal note has been prepared pursuant to P.L.1980, c.67.
