STATEMENT

This bill appropriates $1,000,000 to Ramapo College of New Jersey in recognition of the college's 25th anniversary as the State's public liberal arts college. This act would recognize that Ramapo College has remained true to its founding mission, but needs additional State assistance to attain higher levels of achievement in fulfillment of that mission. An appropriation of $1,000,000 will allow the college to add faculty and programs which will assist in attracting and providing for the retention of New Jersey students. This funding, on the occasion of the college's 25th anniversary, would be suitable recognition by the State that Ramapo has worked earnestly to remain true to its founding mission, but needs additional State assistance to attain even higher levels of achievement in fulfillment of that mission.
