SENATE COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR

SENATE, No. 1039

with Assembly Floor Amendments

(Proposed By Assemblyman HOLZAPFEL)

ADOPTED: MARCH 13, 1997

These amendments remove the language inserted by floor amendments on February 20, 1997 and return the bill to the form that was approved by the Senate.

With these amendments, this bill requires that all ordinances or public notices that any municipality, other than a city, may be required to publish, when the manner of publication is not otherwise specifically provided, be published in at least one newspaper published in the county in which the municipality is located and circulating in the municipality. The amendments made in the Assembly on February 20, 1997, which are deleted by these amendments, required that such notices be published in at least one daily newspaper published and circulating in the municipality. Those amendments also required that if no such daily newspaper exists, such municipal ordinances or notices must be published in a daily newspaper published in the county in which the municipality is located and which circulates in the municipality.
