This bill appropriates $34,000 to the Department of Military and Veterans' Affairs to provide a grant to the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation, Inc.

In late 1986, President Reagan signed a law authorizing the construction of a memorial in the nation's capital to recognize the contributions of women who serve or have served in the armed forces. The Memorial Gate area of the Arlington National Cemetery has been selected as the site for this memorial. The Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation, Inc. is the non-profit organization charged by Congress with the responsibility for funding and moving the project forward.
