An Act creating three additional Superior Court judgeships and amending N.J.S. 2B:2-1.

    Be It Enacted by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:

    1. N.J.S.2B:2-1 is amended to read as follows:

    2B:2-1. Number of Judges. a. The Superior Court shall consist of [406] 409 judges.

    b. (1) The Superior Court shall at all times consist of the following number of judges, who at the time of their appointment and reappointment were resident of each county:

                        Atlantic.......................11

                        Bergen........................27

                        Burlington....................9

                        Camden......................15

                        Cape May.....................4

                        Cumberland..................7

                        Essex..........................34

                        Gloucester....................9

                        Hudson.......................24

                        Hunterdon....................3

                        Mercer.................[9] 12

                        Middlesex...................24

                        Monmouth..................17

                        Morris........................15

                        Ocean.........................15

                        Passaic.......................16

                        Salem...........................2

                        Somerset......................6

                        Sussex..........................4

                        Union.........................20

                        Warren.........................3

    (2)  Additionally, the following number of those judges of the Superior Court satisfying the residency requirements set forth above shall at all times sit in the county in which they reside:

    This bill would create three additional Superior Court judgeships to be assigned to Mercer County.

Creates three additional Superior Court judgeships for Mercer County.
